Thalamus: Primary Processed

Snapshot of the Thalamus file from the yggdrasil workspace after the first housekeeping audit processed observations into issues and pruned resolved items.

Compare with the pre-housekeeping snapshot to see what changed.

Thalamus

Shared thinking space between one human and one local AI agent (at a time). Created from .agent/secondbrain-template.md. This file is gitignored — it is local to this workspace instance.

Preferences

  • Default mode: zen (deep work sessions are the norm so far)
  • User prefers terse agent responses with context, not trailing summaries
  • ws CLI is the shared interface — agent should use it, not raw git/cd

Observations

  • Orientation principle: keep greeting brief and human-first. Defer component scan until after mode/role alignment — in focused sessions the scan may not be needed at all.
  • Potential "Flow" mode distinct from Zen: Flow = productive drift across tasks, possibly overseeing multiple agents, async Thalamus interaction. Zen = deep single-topic focus, Thalamus input-only, housekeeping deferred. The async back-and-forth where human writes thoughts while agent works felt like shared flow — worth exploring as a mode concept.
  • Cross-workspace Thalamus sync: the file evolves quickly and needs a system to avoid losing useful content in forgotten workspaces. Obsidian vault organized by workspace is one option. Not a primary Git usage thing.

Upcoming Work (captured end of 2026-03-23 session)

GitHub Pages docs site

  • Set up yggdrasil repo with GitHub Pages for published docs
  • Sections needed:
  • Original Yggdrasil docs (homelab/hobby cluster content)
  • GDD directory tree (docs/gdd/) as-is
  • Expanded "Getting Started" / tutorial section
  • "Samples" section with:
    • Session transcript from this GDD workspace (technical work stubbed)
    • Session transcript from the parallel workspace (review-threads work)
    • Thalamus file samples from both workspaces
    • Cross-reference marker where the two sessions intersected (PR #19 review resolved from other workspace)
  • The transcripts should show GDD in action for people who learn by example

Deferred from this session

  • Flow mode concept (distinct from Zen) — brainstorm in a future session
  • Obsidian vault for Thalamus cross-workspace sync — future exploration
  • writing-yggdrasil-docs skill update to stop hard-wrapping prose

Concerns

Audit Log

2026-03-24 — First audit

  • Promoted: Skill tool misfires → issue #21 (skill loading audit + Obra dependencies); Markdown linebreaks → issue #22 (writing-yggdrasil-docs skill update)
  • Pruned: cwd drift (resolved by ws commit bodyfile PR #19); GDD session summary (in git history); .commits/ bodyfile approach (implemented); issue #18 reference (closed)
  • Kept: 3 items (orientation principle, Flow mode concept, cross-workspace sync)
  • Notes: First-ever audit. Capture quality was good — most items were actionable or led to useful discussion. The async observation about shared flow was the most interesting emergent insight.
